HBG Construction has won two contracts worth a total of £6.6m. The firm has been appointed by Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust to build a new unit at Glanrhyd Hospital in Bridgend, south Wales, for £6.5m. It has also been awarded a £100,000 job as part of the redevelopment of 3-6 Gracechurch Street in the City of London for the Universities Superannuation Scheme.
Wates wins vets' school job
Wates Construction has won a £6m contract to build a three-storey learning resource centre at the Hatfield campus of the Royal Veterinary College. Wates is also to build a £2.6m clinical centre for large animals at the site.
Alton to build 54 homes
Contractor Drew Smith has won a £3.5m contract to build 54 affordable homes at Alton in north Hampshire.
Lovell secures £40m scheme
Housebuilder Lovell and the Guinness Trust have been selected by Tower Hamlets Housing Action Trust to build a £40m housing scheme on a brownfield site in Bow, east London.
Norwest Holst wins £3.3m deal
Dorset council has awarded Norwest Holst Construction a £3.3m contract to design and build a hall and a two-storey art and music block at Lytchett Minster school near Poole.
Study to improve road safety
Engineer Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed to carry out a £90,000 study to improve the Highways Agency's standards for the operation and safety of road junctions.
