‘We’re not exactly the Pentagon’ says Construction Products Association boss

The Construction Products Association (CPA) has become targeted by computer hackers, who have changed the organisation’s website into Chinese.

The CPA website was hit this morning by hackers who have changed the website into Chinese and made it impossible for technicians to simply enter English text on the website to replace it.

It is understood that putting the site right will not be an easy fix due to the complexity of the hack.

Noble Francis, economics director at the CPA, said: “It’s one of the things that you have heard happens but you don’t think that it will happen to you. We’re not exactly the Pentagon.”

No confidential information about CPA members has been affected by the hack.

In 2008 the RIBA website was targeted by Chinese hackers who broke into the association’s database of architects.
