Crossrail has named the 12 engineers and architects that will work on its £300m design frameworks.

The 12, made up of two architecture practices and 10 multidisciplinary consultants, are Aedas, Arup, Atkins, Building Design Partnership, Capita Symonds, Halcrow, Hyder, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald, Parsons Brinckerhoff, Scott Wilson and WSP.

They will bid for £300m worth of packages to design stations, tunnels, shafts and railway systems. For the stations, each lead designer will employ its own architects for detailed design.

Graham Plant, programme director at Crossrail, said: “Crossrail can now move full speed ahead towards the start of the main construction work in 2010.”
