Birmingham-based NEC Group has teamed up with Lothian Leisure Development for a £40m indoor arena on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The pair are planning an 8,000-seat venue at Straiton in Midlothian which will also include conference, retail and leisure space, along with a cinema and two hotels.

It is due to go into planning by the end of next year.
