There will be 20 categories at this year’s awards

Entries are now open for the 2026 Building Awards.

This year’s event, which will take place on 3 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in central London will see prizes handed to 20 winners.

The categories recognise excellence in both practice and business operations.

Entries are open for 19 of the categories, with the winner of CEO of the Year to be announced on the night.

The deadline for all categories is 22 May. The full list is:

  • Architectural Practice of the Year

  • Building Magazine Project of the Year

  • Building’s Good Employers Guide Award

  • Construction Consultant / Surveyor of the Year (100 staff or over)

  • Construction Consultant / Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff)

  • Contractor of the Year (up to £500m)

  • Major Contractor of the Year (over £500m), sponsored by Fenwick Elliott

  • Delivering Social Value Award

  • Digital Excellence Award

  • Engineering Consultant of the Year

  • Environmental Impact Award, in partnership with Climate Group

  • Housebuilder & Housing Developer of the Year

  • Housing Project of the Year, in partnership with the Housing Forum

  • Manufacturer of the Year

  • Net Zero Award, in partnership with UKGBC

  • Retrofit Project of the Year

  • Small Project of the Year (up to £5m)

  • Specialist Contractor of the Year

  • Construction Client of the Year

  • CEO of the Year, sponsored by DGP
