Neil Fitzsimmons, the former boss of housebuilder Redrow, has become chief executive of Gladedale.

Fitzsimmons takes over from David Gaffney, who steps down after eight years at the helm of the HBOS-controlled housebuilder.

Fitzsimmons, who left Redrow in March after the return of founder Steve Morgan, will be joined by former Redrow colleague Colin Lewis as chief operating officer. The move will also reunute him with former Redrow chairman Alan Bowkett, who became chairman of Gladedale in January.

Bowkett said: “Both Neil and Colin bring considerable housebuilding experience, which will be invaluable.”
