Seb Fossey set to start at cladding contractor later this month
Cladding specialist Permasteelisa has appointed former McGee boss Seb Fossey as its new group chief executive.
Fossey, who left McGee in the spring after nine years at the firm, formally joins the business at the end of the month and takes on a role previously occupied by Liam Cummins.
Cummins was handed the deputy chairman’s post last September after nearly three years as chief executive.
Permasteelisa, which is owned by US private equity firm Atlas Holdings, said Fossey’s arrival means Cummins will now become a non-executive advisory director at both Permasteelisa and the wider Atlas group which also owns Bovis.
Day-to-day responsibilities for Permasteelisa in the past year have been carried out by Atlas partner Peter Bacon as executive chairman and Cummins along with its regional CEOs.
Bacon said he would now be stepping back from his executive responsibilities while remaining chairman of Permasteelisa.

Fossey, who spent more than 15 years at Laing O’Rourke before joining McGee, starts on 28 September. Cummins joined Permasteelisa from Kier at the start of 2023 and paying tribute to him, Bacon said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Liam Cummins for his contribution as Group CEO and more recently deputy chairman.
“Liam injected real focus, energy and pace into the Group’s transformation programme and we thank him for his valuable leadership contribution.”
Permasteelisa has been carrying out a rejig of its senior management over the past year with former chief operating officer Lee Marks leaving last September. Marks has since joined Skanska as executive vice president in charge of its building business.
Jobs Permasteelisa is currently working on include 60 Gracechurch Street and 60 Queen Victoria Street in London as well as San Francisco International Airport and the Chinese Medical University in Taiwan.
