Scheme in city’s financial district to contain 296 luxury homes with views over Biscayne Bay

Foster & Partners has unveiled its designs for a 75-storey residential tower in downtown Miami.

The 619 Brickell Avenue scheme will contain 296 luxury homes, all with views overlooking the city’s Biscayne Bay.

The narrow, Art Deco-inspired tower will occupy a prime waterfront site in the heart of Miami’s financial district and adjacent to the historic Brickell Park.

The area has undergone significant transformation into a district of high-rise, high-end housing in recent years with other nearby tower schemes in development including Sieger Suarez Smith Architects and Carlos Ott’s 100-storey Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami.

The Fosters scheme features a distinctive twisting form which the practice said is aiming to reference the site’s waterside location and provide opportunities for maximising natural light entering the building’s homes.

The tower will be split into five main volumes divided by ribbon balconies, with each volume containing different residential uses, from duplex penthouses to townhouses and ‘sky villas’.

The base of the building features an elevated drop-off for residences and a podium level containing a Nobu bar and restaurant overlooking the water, while the roof offers a garden, swimming pool and courts for padel and pickleball.

The building will also contain luxury amenities including a wellness spa, outdoor lounges and a fitness centre with views over the bay.

Rob Harrison, senior partner at Foster + Partners, said the scheme “will create a world-class residential destination in one of Miami’s most vibrant neighborhoods.”

Other Foster + Partners schemes in Miami include The Alton, a six-storey mixed-use block on Miami Beach containing shops, homes and offices.
