Contractor picks up £46m scheme at Yarborough Estate in Grimsby and £25m mixed-use scheme in East London

Contractor Galliford Try has won £71m of regeneration work, it announced today.

The company has been appointed by Shoreline Housing Partnership as development partner on a £46m regeneration scheme at the Yarborough Estate in Grimsby. It has also won a £25m deal to deliver a mixed-use scheme in East London for East Thames Housing group.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: “The presence we established as a local housebuilder in Grimsby with the acquisition of Chartdale Homes last year was key to securing the Yardborough award.”

The redevelopment of the Yarborough Estate will involve 440 housing units, approximately 40% of which will be social housing. There are also proposals for a new medical centre and primary school.

The East Thames Housing Group scheme, in Payne Road, will involve 158 mixed tenure residential units.

Fitzgerald added: “We are well established in East London, and we look forward to working with both Shoreline Housing Partnerships and East Thames Housing Group to provide high quality homes which will put these communities at the forefront of modern living.”
