A review of the bodies in charge of delivering the planned £9bn regeneration of the Thames Gateway is to be instigated by Eamonn Boylan, deputy chief executive designate for the Homes and Communities Agency.

He said: “There has to be a structural review – I think we have to be clear we’ve done the thinking about what are complex structures. We have to be sure they’re not impeding delivery.”

The 160,000-home Thames Gateway regeneration scheme has been criticised for the complex array of different agencies responsible for the programme.

Boylan made his comments in advance of next week’s annual Thames Gateway forum.
