Fry resigns as chair of St George and from group board

Greg Fry, chairman of housebuilder St George, which is part of the Berkeley Group, is to leave the company at the end of October.

He will also step down from the Berkeley Group’s board at the company’s AGM on 8 September.

Fry joined Berkeley in 1982 and has been a director of St George from its inception in 1986. He was appointed to the group main board in May 1996 and is a member of the executive committee.

Tony Pidgley, Berkeley’s chairman, said: “We are sorry that Greg has decided to leave the group and, on behalf of the board, I would like to thank him for the outstanding contribution he has made to the business over the last 28 years.”

Fry said that he felt it was the right time to make a change when the business was in a strong position.
