London complex built by contractor Kingscote features 46 apartments
Former Stirling Prize winner Stanton Williams has completed its first later scheme, the architect has announced.
Called the Oren, the scheme has been built on the edge of Hampstead Heath in London at a site bordering Golders Hill Park.
The development comprises 46 residences – two and three bedroom apartments, including four penthouses and two guest suites.
It was completed by Hampshire contractor Kingscote for Elysian Residencies and includes four distinct but connected elements that follow the natural contours of the site.
The practice said: “The ground floor is carefully nestled into the terrain, ensuring that homeowners can move freely and comfortably throughout the space. Strategic ‘setbacks’ of the upper floors help the building blend into its surroundings, reducing visual impact and preserving the area’s natural character.”
An all-electric building, it includes rooftop photovoltaic panels, while Stanton Williams said the passive design approach maximises daylight while minimising solar gain. Other features include green roofs, water attenuation tanks and bird boxes built into the brickwork.
Others working on the 12,900sq m scheme include cost consultant Cast, structural and civil engineer WSP, M&E consultant Hoare Lea and planning consultant DP9. Landscape architect is BHSLA.
