Head of construction in England and Wales to leave firm in shock departure

Julian Daniel, the head of Lend Lease’s construction business in England and Wales, is to leave the company, Building has learned.

As executive general manager for England and Wales, Daniel led Lend Lease’s contracting arm - the former Bovis business - in those regions. He was formerly the head of Bovis’ UK South division.

Daniel will leave the company in September, at which point Paul Gandy will take over day to day running of the business in England and Wales.

Senior staff were informed of Daniel’s departure in an email yesterday, it is understood. The reasons behind the departure are unknown, but it is thought that Daniel has not yet decided on his next move.

An industry source said: “I’m sure that once his departure is known Julian will get a lot of offers. He’s a very experienced project manager.”

A Lend Lease spokesperson confirmed: “Julian Daniel will be leaving the business to pursue his career externally in September.  We would like take this opportunity to thank Julian for his contribution to the business and wish him every success in the future.”
