Paddam will report into Kier executive director for infrastructure Sean Jeffery.

His appointment is designed to support Kier’s plans to grow its infrastructure business.

The firm also hopes that its £222m acquisition of May Gurney in June last year will further boost its infrastructure capability.

Paddam has previously also worked for Carillion before he joined Morgan Sindall in 2008, he had been the managing director of the firm’s infrastructure business since 2010.

But his departure from Morgan Sindall in June this year came amid a series of changes in senior management at the firm over recent months culminating in the departure of Morgan Sindall managing director Graham Shennan this week.
