Capacity is doubled to ease congestion at one of London's busiest underground stations

King’s Cross station northern ticket hall, designed by Allies and Morrison Architects, opened this week in London

The ticket hall now has doubles its capacity and improves access for the 300,000 passengers using the underground station every day.

In addition to the ticket hall, 300m of tunnels were built by Balfour Beatty to link the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms.

Ten escalators and five lifts were installed to provide access to the Victoria and Piccadilly Tube lines.
