Andy McDermott has been made managing director of social housing developer Westbury Partnerships. He joins from Kier Partnership Homes, where he was operations director for the midlands and north region.

Consultants
Arcadis has appointed Paul Taplin director of contractual services. Taplin will be based in the firm’s London office, and joins from FTI Brewer Consulting, where he was a managing director.

Institutions
Tim Collins has joined the Home Builders Federation as deputy director of external affairs. He was previously housing minister Grant Shapps’ chief of staff.
Property ombudsman the Consumer Code for Home Builders has appointed Noel Hunter chairman. Hunter also chairs the board of the Trading Standards Institute.
