Nottinghamshire-based civil engineering and building firm North Midland Construction has appointed Glynn Cunliffe business development manager of its building division, North Midland Building. He was previously the marketing manager of the firm’s civil engineering division.

Peter Ockenden has been made a partner in QS group Henry Riley. Lewis Hodgkinson and Andrew Turner have been promoted to senior associates, and John Butler, Craig Irons, Gil Newby and Phil Taylor are now associates.

Four senior appointments have been made at housebuilder Gladedale’s rebranded divisions. At Bett Homes, Gordon Cost takes over as managing director and Neil Davidson becomes development director.

Karen Spencer will head the Construction Engineering Projects & Surety Group, a new specialist division of construction lawyers and support staff at commercial firm Halliwells.
