Irish developer McInerney Homes posted a positive set of interim results thanks to a strong performance by its UK operation.

Pre-tax profit for the period ending 30 June rose 1.7% to £11.2m. Group turnover rose 34% to £228.8m.

The UK was McInerney’s most successful market. The division completed 268 units, compared with 142 units in the equivalent period in 2005. UK turnover shot up nearly 80% to £56.4m.

The domestic market proved more challenging for McInerney. The developer completed 362 units in Ireland over the six-month period, down from 438 last year. Turnover fell 8.4% to £83.7m.
