Miller Group, the UK’s largest privately owned contractor and developer, has appointed Derek Gardner to the newly created position of corporate development director.
The appointment is further evidence of the Edinburgh-based company’s acquisitive strategy. Miller Group said Gardner will be “highly proactive in evaluating group-wide acquisition opportunities to assess their value and potential”. He leaves Natwest Equity Partners, where he was director responsible for investment activities across the North-west. Miller recently bought Newcastle-based housebuilder Cussins.
