Work for NHS Tayside at two hospitals will begin in early 2010
Morgan Ashurst has been named the preferred bidder for the £100m Tayside Acute Adult Mental Health Developments PPP.
Taycare, a joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments and Robertson Capital Projects (RCP), will work on behalf of NHS Tayside and the North of Scotland Planning Group to provide new mental healthcare facilities at Murray Royal hospital in Perth and Stracathro hospital in Angus.
The inpatient facilities will provide general adult psychiatry, low secure care services and a new medium secure service.
In total, 183 bed spaces will be created at Murray Royal hospital, with an additional 52 at Stracathro hospital.
Work at both hospitals begins early 2010 with both facilities opened by early 2012.
