Management consultancy Leading Edge has forecast that construction output will rise 1.5% this year – about the same as last year.
Leading Edge said the persistent wet weather had seen many projects fall behind schedule, with some experts predicting that 2001 would be the second warmest on record.
The report said this shift to a warmer climate would favour off-site prefabrication but threaten traditional building methods such as brick and block.
