Architect PLP has confirmed it is working on a proposal to take forward the development of the stalled Pinnacle tower in the City of London.

As Building revealed last month, PLP is working with developer Lipton Rogers as part of a team that is bidding to take on the project.

The Lipton Rogers proposal is backed by equity investors and has engaged a design team including architect Karen Cook at PLP, who designed the original Pinnacle for her previous employer Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF).

PLP has previously denied involvement in the Pinnacle development.

Now a spokesperson for PLP has confirmed it is working with the Lipton Rogers-led team on developing its own designs for the project, and working on a revised version of the existing scheme.

The spokesperson said PLP has “done work on the Pinnacle for Lipton Rogers and is now looking at the existing consent.”
