The firm has revealed that it will aim for major £20m-plus unitised curtain walling jobs

British cladding specialist Prater is seeking to poach schemes from the sector’s big players as it moves to target the London skyscraper market.

The firm has revealed that it will aim for major £20m-plus unitised curtain walling jobs, pitting it against a small group of global cladding giants, including Lindner and Gartner, who currently dominate the market.

Gavin Hamblett, pre-construction director at Prater, said that the company plans to make a multimillion-pound investment to boost its manufacturing capability in the next two to five years.

However, Hamblett stressed that in order to do so it would need to have potential clients lined up.

“We are ready to make the investment, but we need a contractor to support us,” he said.
