Structural engineer Adams Kara Taylor has collaborated with an international team including Arup to design and build the £9.2m Raising Malawi Academy for Girls

The initiative, designed to encourage young women to enter politics, science and education, is based on sustainable construction and includes a library, gymnasium and dormitories. Pop star Madonna cut the ribbon on the project, which is due to be finished in 2012.
