Green roof will provide a habitat for local wildlife and maintain natural drainage
Installation of a 4,000m² green roof is nearing completion on London's newest and largest bus garage. Designed by Pringle Richard Sharratt Architects, over half of the building's roof area is covered in an extensive green roof to help minimise the environmental impact of the building in West Ham.
Green roof specialists Blackdown Horticultural Consultants have worked with contractor Lakesmere on the roof which provides a sustainable habitat for local wildlife and addresses the SUDS requirements by maintaining natural drainage and storm water management. The main contractor on the project is Mansell Construction.
