Crest Nicholson has revised the masterplan for its £500m development on Southampton’s waterfront at Woolston Riverside originally put forward by Richard Rogers.

Crest intends to reposition the tallest 23-storey block next to the Itchen bridge, which connects the former Vosper Thornycroft shipyard with the city centre. Crest Nicholson’s masterplanner, Jestico + Whiles, is also proposing 1,610 homes rather than the 1,500 envisaged in the Rogers plan, which was drawn up for the South East England Development Agency when it was seeking a developer.
