Contractor and developer Rok this week revealed that turnover for the six months to 30 June 2006 was up 10% on the same period last year.

In a trading update, it also said it had won £300m of work in the social housing sector, making it one of the top three players.

The statement said: “The committed order book stands at £330m and overall long-term frameworks, mainly for social housing projects, total £1.1bn.”

It added that these projects were expected to start in the second half of the financial year.

ROK’s development arm would continue to focus on low-risk regional projects, it said.

Rok said its maintenance arm had grown strongly and initial investment in that business was largely over. It expects margins for the division to improve in the second half of the year.

Rok’s interim results will be announced on 15 August.
