The project in Grantham will include demolition of the current building and construction of a new two storey block

Shepherd Construction has won a £12m contract to build an academy school in Lincolnshire.

The firm is due to start work on the Priory Ruskin Academy at Grantham for Priory Trust and Lincolnshire County Council in February subject to planning permission.

The 8,430sqm Ruskin Academy has been designed by architect FaulknerBrowns. The project will include demolition of the current school building and construction of a two story main building comprising a specialist teaching block and four separate house blocks.

Peter Bates, programme director for Shepherd Construction commented: “We’re delighted to have won this contract and look forward to delivering facilities that will match the vision for both academies by providing an ideal learning environment that will promote achievement, personal development and opportunities for progression.”
