Spending spree by building supplier continues as number of 2005 acquisitions reaches 17.

Building supplier SIG has revealed it has made six acquisitions since publishing its interim results in September.

Five of these acquisitions have been made in the UK with combined sales of around £57m, split across the roofing and specialist construction products divisions. In addition a commercial interiors business in Germany with sales of around £5 million has been acquired.

In total these six acquisitions add a further 41 trading sites to the group for an outlay of around £41m.

As a result, the total number of acquisitions completed by the group in the calendar year 2005 to date is 17, adding annualised sales of £138m and 62 additional trading sites. The group now has a total number of trading sites of 481.

The total acquisition so far in 2005 is £103m including assumed debt.
