Small and medium-sized construction firms believe that converting to the single currency will cost them less than similar-sized companies in other industry sectors, according to a survey of 1000 businesses with a turnover of less than £1m.
Construction managers forecast average conversion costs of £679 a company, lower than that for any other business group.
However, more than 56% of small and medium-sized construction firms do not know how much converting to the euro will actually cost them.
The study, by NOP Financial for Allied Irish Bank, showed that only 34% of building companies have sought advice on euro conversion.
