Newport based Coilcolor saves rival from administration

Steel cladding firm Coilcolor has snapped up Welsh rival Falcon Steel after the firm went into administration last month.

Newport based Coilcolor will re-employ 16 of the Falcon workers who lost their jobs when the firm’s 35-strong workforce was laid off.

The deal will safeguard the future of Falcon’s Swansea plant, where manufacturing will recommence immediately.

Managing director Dean Proctor said: “This deal gives Coilcolor a massive potential for growth.

“Greater capacity means we can offer existing and new customers a leaner, fitter and even more cost-effective service.

“Prospects are now even brighter for the existing company as well, as our new team in Swansea and south Wales can boast the largest independent coil coating company in the UK.”
