Scheme is part of £200m revamp of Eurostar terminal

Consultant Thomas & Adamson has been appointed QS and project manager on a new food market in London’s Waterloo being masterminded by listings magazine Time Out.

Time Out Market is setting up shop at the train station and will be the centrepiece of a £200m redevelopment of 135,000 sq ft within Waterloo station – led by property and regeneration company LCR – which will bring the former Eurostar terminal, designed by Grimshaw Architects, back into use.

How the scheme will look when completed

The venue, which has been drawn up by Edinburgh-based architect Ian Springford Architects, now known as ISA, is expected to open in 2021 and will occupy 32,500 sq ft over two floors, accommodating around 500 seats.

A second Time Out Market in the capital is being planned for Spitalfields on the City fringe.

The first Time Out Market opened in 2014 in Lisbon and in 2017 attracted 3.6 million visitors.
