CMPi strengthens built environment portfolio with parent's acquisition of the Thames Gateway Forum

United Business Media has acquired the Thames Gateway Forum exhibition and conference business for £3.05m.

TGF will be integrated into the built environment division of UBM's professional media business CMP Information, publisher of Building.

The Thames Gateway Forum is held every year in the Thames Gateway region. The 2005 exhibition and conference was held at ExCel in London and included 130 speakers, 180 exhibitors and almost 5,000 visitors.

Commenting on the deal, built environment division managing director Jonathan Newby said: “TGF is a great fit into our building portfolio. It will complement our existing and new construction and architecture products, and marks our clear intention to take a leading position in this growing market sector.”

The Forum brings together public sector organisations and charities with private sector developers, consultants, architects and financial institutions. Organisations attending the TGF include regional development agencies, government departments, housing associations, English Partnerships and the Olympics Delivery Authority.

TGF will join a media portfolio that already includes Building magazine and its Regenerate supplement, Building Design and RIBA Journal, as well as a number of exhibition, educational and networking events for the construction and building services sectors.

The next Thames Gateway Forum will be held from November 22-23 2006. For more information click on the link below.
