Mission will highlight opportunities ahead of 2014 Winter Olympics

The UKTI (UK Trade & Industry) has announced that it is leading a trade mission for British construction firms to Moscow, Sochi and Krasnodar in Russia ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The mission, planned for October this year, is being led by British Expertise on behalf of the UKTI Construction & Global Sports Projects Sector Teams to highlight opportunities available to UK construction companies ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games which will be held in Sochi which is on the Russian Black Sea coast.

The entire surrounding region of Krasnodar is expected to benefit from public sector-funded infrastructure investment, as well as private sector development of hotels, shopping centres and commercial and leisure developments.

According to UKTI, the mission will be attended by “high level delegates from both the public and private sectors, with the key note speeches being given by senior government representatives.  Mission members will be invited to speak during the seminars or, depending on the number of missioners, participate in a specialist workshop on one of the mission focus topics.”

This will be the only mission to Sochi and Krasnodar until the end of 2011 at least and firms interested in attending can visit http://www.ukti.gov.uk/export/sectors/construction/event/117395.html for more information.
