A pioneering school, community hall and health centre designed by Edward Cullinan Architects is being completed this week in the Greenwich Millennium Village.
The £8m project features rippling walls of English larch boarding, south-facing main rooms protected from sunshine by awnings and ventilation through heat-retaining hollow concrete floor slabs. The 4150 m2 complex was built for English Partnerships by Wates Construction, with WS Atkins Consultants as project manager, Price & Myers as structural engineer, Fulcrum Consulting as services engineer and Gardiner & Theobald as cost consultant.
