Police investigating after 63-year-old killed during flat renovation

A workman in Aberdeen has died in a scaffolding accident.

The 63-year-old man was renovating a block of flats on a site near Aberdeen train station. It is understood he fell as the scaffold collapsed at around 8am yesterday morning.

The man was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead soon after arrival. It is not yet known which company he was working for.

Grampian police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating.
