Bill Dunster's new venture promises to make renewable energy products cheaper than those procured through grant schemes

ZEDfabric, a sister company to architect Bill Dunster’s ZEDfactory, has launched an online shop selling renewable energy products.

The outlet, called ZEDshop says it will offer products at ‘competitive retail prices’ across the counter. It is also offering wholesale prices to people who are prepared to pay in advance and wait eight weeks for delivery.

ZEDshop says the discounts available mean both PV and thermal solar panels can be bought more cheaply than paying the retail price and obtaining a 50% grant from the Low Carbon Building Programme.

To obtain wholesale prices people join a consortium. ZEDshop says it is extending consortium membership to anyone including private individuals this year.
