Upcoming schemes in Hull

Igloo

Igloo Regeneration Fund has won the competition to develop the first phase of the massive Hull waterfront scheme, The Fruit Market. Igloo will work with architects Surface, Bauman Lyons and Sarah Wigglesworth to develop residential units, workspace, commercial, two hotels and a car park on a 3.6ha site close to Hull's marina. The competition was run by URC Hull Citybuild.

This mixed-use scheme by architect Chetwoods, The Boom, has just been granted planning approval. Work on the first phase of the 250-unit, £65m residential scheme for developer Pure Urban is due to start in the autumn. Planners turned the scheme down last year after five years in development and £9.3m in provisional funding from English Partnerships.
