Search goes on for John Shaw

The body recovered from the collapsed Didcot Power Station this week has been formally identified as 57-year-old Ken Cresswell from Rotherham.

Coleman & Company said in a statement: “The body of our friend and colleague recovered at Didcot, in the early hours of Thursday morning, has now been confirmed as Kenny Cresswell.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Kenny’s family at this difficult time. Kenny was one of life’s characters he will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

“John Shaw is still missing and work has today resumed on-site to repatriate him with his family, who continue to endure an agonising wait.

“We are praying for a speedy recovery for the families at this time and we remain committed to supporting them in anyway we can.”

Prior to Creswell being identified the bodies of two of the other victims had been found - those of Michael Collings, 53 and Chris Huxtable, 34.

The men from Coleman & Co were preparing for demolition of the Didcot A power station when part of the boiler house collapsed six months ago.

Thames Valley Police said: “Our thoughts remain with the families of Ken Cresswell and John Shaw and we ask that their privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time.”
