Body believed to be John Shaw, 61, from Rotherham

The body of the final missing man at Didcot Power Station has been recovered, believed to be John Shaw, 61, from Rotherham.

Thames Valley Police said the body was located on Friday evening, before being recovered on Sunday morning.

All four missing men are now believed to have been recovered from the site of the collapsed power station, all employees of demolition contractor Coleman and Company.

Michael Collings, 53, Chris Huxtable, 34, and Ken Cresswell, 57, had already been found and identified.

Specially-trained Thames Valley Police officers are working to support the families of the men.

Thames Valley Police said: “Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of all four men and we would ask that their privacy is respected during this incredibly difficult time.”

Coleman and Company said: “With the recovery of John Shaw earlier today, the last remaining colleague to be found in the debris of the Boiler House that prematurely collapsed on the 23rd February, everyone at Coleman & Company is reflecting on the terrible incident which claimed the lives of four friends and colleagues, Mick Collings, Chris Huxtable, Kenny Cresswell and John Shaw.”
