James Dand becomes the consultancy’s new chief operating officer

Turner & Townsend has announced the appointment of James Dand as the firm’s global chief operating officer.

Dand, previously the consultancy’s director of European operations, replaces Tom Harrison, who has retired, and is joining the group’s executive board. He has worked for T&T for 15 years.

Paul Grace, who was running T&T’s Russian arm, is to become European managing director.

Speaking about his new role, Dand said: “After seven consecutive years of exceptional growth, this is an exciting time to take on this role and work with the wider leadership team as we build on our leading position in infrastructure, real estate and natural resources.

“We have a fantastic platform for further growth, working with the largest global clients and on major transformative programmes in every continent.”

T&T’s chief executive Vincent Clancy said Dand’s promotion to the group’s executive board “exemplifies our commitment to recognising and nurturing talent within the business.

“With his appointment, three of our five executive board members now originally joined the business as a graduate, which is testament to the investment we make in our people.”
