Riyadh to get 800,000 a year capacity rail hub

Plans to build a massive new railway station in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh were revealed this week. The client Saudi Railway Company said tenders for the 800,000 passengers a year station would be issued at the end of this year.

The station is to be finished in 2013 and will be used by high speed trains that will go up to 200kmph and link to Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf and Al-Haditha on the Jordanian border.
