Bridge is a waveform structure 60m above water level
Zaha Hadid Architects and contractor Archirodon Construction have completed a £172m bridge linking Abu Dhabi island to the mainland. Sheikh Zayed Bridge is an 842m long waveform structure with reinforced concrete piers and steel arches. The main arch rises to a height of 60m above water level while the four-lane roadway sits 20m above.
