Aedas Architects’ “Sandcrawler” will be completed in Singapore next year

Aedas Architects has designed regional headquarters for Star Wars creator Lucasfilm in Singapore. The “Sandcrawler”, named after a sci-fi vehicle owned by the Jawa people in the Star Wars films, will also contain office space within a 10-storey, 24,000m2 metallic glass horseshoe block “floating” 13m above the ground. It will also include a double-height, 100-seat cinema. Construction is under way and is due to be completed next year.
