Your article reviewing “what to do if your boss won’t leave” (29 September, page 60) fails to mention the final course of action a person can resort to if they feel there is no chance to progress their career – to find employment elsewhere.

Although it may appear so obvious that you felt you didn’t need to mention this step, an otherwise highly informative article is left with a gaping hole through it.

The most successful moves are always made after a thorough examination of the potential for enhancing a career without moving company. But if there is truly no opportunity for growth within an employee’s current operation, then looking at alternative employers must be considered to prevent stagnation, lack of motivation and the many other negative impacts that could begin to blight an otherwise successful career.
