Are other readers, like me, disgusted and frustrated at the so-called consultation on Parts L and F of the Building Regulations

Noting the reports in Building, I have found that you have to download nearly 800 pages from the internet; how many organisations and persons will want to print that amount of paper? This means that the so-called “consultation” will be restricted to only a few, without details getting to the real builders.

The consultation closes on 17 September, and we are expected to implement the revised version from October next year, probably a few days before we can get the approved document. The last revision for the 2006 edition of Part L was a shambles, so I assume we can expect more of the same.

Part L has got too complicated, and there is urgent need to return to the old “deemed to satisfy”, without having to pay for unnecessary SAP calculations and EPCs.
