Mega Silk Way sketch

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by David O’Brien, senior landscape consultant with architect and masterplanning firm Chapman Taylor.

It is the Mega Silk Way in Astana, Kazakhstan - a retail and leisure scheme, currently on site, that is being built within the framework of the EXPO 2017 masterplan. The finished project will include restaurants, a food court, 10 cinemas including an IMAX screen, a 400-seat ice rink around a lake, children’s entertainment areas and an indoor rollercoaster. A full-scale Ferris wheel will also stand outside the building. It is due to complete in February 2017.
