Balfour Beatty has created five new divisional chief executives following the restructuring of its business in the summer.

The five will all report to chief operating officer Andrew McNaughton (pictured). They are:

  • Mike Peasland, chief executive of Construction Services UK, responsible for civil engineering, ground engineering and Mansell
  • George Pierson, chief executive of professional services, responsible for Parsons Brinckerhoff, building, transportation and energy, the Americas, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Asia, Australia Pacific and Southern Africa
  • Robert Van Cleave, chief executive of US construction services, responsible for American rail and infrastructure.
  • Manfred Leger, chief executive of rail, responsible for the UK, Germany and Austria and plant and fleet services.
  • Kevin Craven, chief executive of support services, responsible for utility solutions and the support services business WorkPlace.

In addition, Brian Osborne has been appointed director of international business, responsible for Balfour’s Hong Kong-based joint venture Gammon, as well as UAE-based joint ventures.

Andrew Wolstenholme has moved from head of Balfour Beatty Management to become director of innovation and strategic capability.

McNaughton said: “This is about recognising the journey we have made. Ten years ago, the two words that described what we did were ’UK construction’. Now it is ’international infrastructure’.”

He added: “The new chief executives will have a different role from before as they will be responsible for mapping out the future of their divisions.”
