Council gives consent for new rengeneration project in Woolwich

Berkeley Homes’ scheme for the redevelopment of Royal Arsenal in Woolwich has been granted planning permission by Greenwich Borough Council. The project will bring the total development to 3000 new homes – of which at least 1000 will be affordable or key-worker housing – and 300,000 sq ft of commercial space, including a 10-screen cinema. It will be Berkeley Homes’ biggest ever scheme.

London Development Agency's Executive Director for Regeneration and Development, Tony Winterbottom, said: “The Royal Arsenal has become an exemplar for development in the Thames Gateway. The partnership we have formed with Berkeley Homes shows how sustainable communities can be delivered.”
