The shortlist for the majority of the categories of the 2008 Building Awards have been announced

The shortlist for ten Building Awards have been announced. Some of construction’s biggest names will be vying for the top prizes at Grosvenor Hotel on April 1.

The Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year award will be hotly contested with Currie + Brown, Cyril Sweett, Davis Langdon, Faithful + Gould and Mace all up for the grand price.

The architect of the year will be one of seven top practices: Assael Architecture, dRMM, Grimshaw, Haworth Tompkins, HLM Architects, PRP Architects and Sheppart Robson.

The firms in line to be engineering consultant of the year are Atkins, Buro Happold, Faber Maunsell, Ramboll, Whitbybird, White Young Green, WSP Group.

While the major contractor of the year will come from one of ISG InteriorExterior, Kier Group, Leadbitter, Mansell, and Sir Robert McAlpine.
